   Meet Vesper Valentine, the visionary Headmistress of the Kootenay Burlesque Academy. Since 2015, Vesper has captivated audiences worldwide with her spellbinding performances and productions in the art of burlesque. From dazzling stages across Canada and the United States to exotic locales such as Panama and Croatia, she has graced numerous festival stages and prestigious shows. As the founder and producer of the Kootenay Burlesque Festival, Vesper is dedicated to celebrating and elevating the art form of burlesque.

 Driven by an unwavering passion for burlesque and a profound commitment to ongoing education, Vesper founded the Kootenay Burlesque Academy.  Her vision is dedicated to ensuring continuous access to advanced education opportunities, while simultaneously nurturing and supporting artistic growth and exploration within the community. With her extensive experience captivating diverse audiences globally, Vesper brings unparalleled expertise to her role at the academy, offering invaluable insights and skills to aspiring performers.

 Meet Judith Stein, the Canadian Legend of Burlesque. Retiring to Nelson in 1990 after a distinguished 17-year career of international burlesque performances, Judith didn't slow down—she embarked on a new chapter by sharing her expertise through "The Art of Burlesque" classes starting in 2002. Passionate about passing on her knowledge to a new generation of dancers, Judith's journey reached a pinnacle at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was honored as the first Canadian Legend of Burlesque by her esteemed peers.

This prestigious recognition catapulted her to new heights, leading to performances across North America, Finland, and New Zealand. Judith proudly represented Canada and her beloved Nelson, BC, in documentaries like "League of Exotic Dancers," podcasts, and interviews. Named one of the top 50 performers in worldwide burlesque, Judith continues to inspire with her invaluable skills and insights.

 Judith offers a select number of classes, drawing from her wealth of experience as a true icon of the art form. Her sessions provide a rare opportunity for aspiring performers to delve into the intricacies of burlesque, guided by Judith's unparalleled expertise and passion. Meet LeeLee La Belle, Nelson's resident Nerdlesque Queen, a dynamic force in the world of burlesque with a passion for performing, producing, and teaching.  

This local gem shares her extensive knowledge and expertise through her popular Hips & Heart classes. These sessions delve deep into the rich history of burlesque while nurturing act development and stage presence. LeeLee's dedication to her craft shines through in every lesson, inspiring students to embrace creativity, confidence, and the art of storytelling through movement.

Meet Marloe Blu, a dynamic force in burlesque since 2017, captivating audiences with his unique blend of charisma and artistry on stage. His performances not only showcase his exceptional talent but have also garnered prestigious accolades, including a first-place win for Master of Lip Sync at the esteemed World Champion Burlypicks in 2020.

Marloe's rise in the entertainment industry has been nothing short of remarkable. His nationwide broadcast on Shaw cable, titled "Becoming Marloe Blu," captured hearts and minds across Canada, cementing his reputation as a beloved and influential performer.

 Now, Marloe is ready to share his wealth of experience and expertise with the next generation of performers. Through personalized mentoring and insightful instruction, Marloe Blu offers aspiring artists a unique opportunity to delve into the art of burlesque and unlock their own creative potential under his expert guidance.

 In her 12th year of burlesque indigenous femme @kittykinevil is the headmistress of Ottawa Burlesque Academy. Director of Frisky Femme Productions, Producer of "The Rump Revue", the first official chapter of the original Burlesque Bingo, and fabricator of Evil Embellishments. Known as "The Superior Posterior" she specializes in classic, comedic burlesque, aerial hoop artistry and showgirl fans.

She's the first performer from Ottawa to be accepted at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender, she has headlined the Imperial Burlesque Competition, The Humboldt Burlesque Expo in California, Salt City Burlesque in New York, and featured at Colorado Burlesque festival, Salt City burlesque festival, Vermont Burlesque Festival and has graced the stages of the Viva Las Vegas rockabilly Weekender for past 8 years. This enchanting performer is journeying to Nelson to share her passion for burlesque, along with her exceptional skills and talents with us all. 

  A seasoned performer for over 15 years, Nina bel Vande has graced stages across the United States and Canada, captivating audiences both as a competitor and a guest. Renowned for her classic burlesque style with a twist, she has earned accolades including two nominations for "Outstanding Nightclub Dancer," secured victory as the "Drag Me to Divas" finale winner, received recognition as "Fabulous Entertainer" at Hillcrest Honors, and competed for the crown at the prestigious Exquisite Burlesque Festival crown competition. The woman that aims to please and rocks the tease, Ms.@nina_bel_vande tantalizing performances are always a crowd favorite!
